April 14, 2008 Update: The 2008 Tournament was a great success...536 kids participated. Photos from the 2008 event will be added soon to our website. Thanks to our sponsors, to everyone that helped and to everyone that participated! The Kid's Win Fishing Tournament has become one of Port St. Joe's most anticipated events. Kids from all around come for a day of fun on the water and in the sun. The event exposes youngsters to the excitement of fishing in a fun and safe environment. The event is open to children ages 3 through 16, with the registrants receiving a new rod & reel, tackle box, t-shirt, and goodie bag, so kids win just by entering. There will be first, second, and third place trophies awarded for 6 different fish species in two age divisions, the 'Small Fry' division (3-10 years old) and the 'Junior' division (11-16 years old). Participants can expect to catch Ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Catfish, Flounder, and Pinfish. | Last years turn out was outstanding with 391 kids participating and lots of support from local businesses and individual donations. We anticipate having at least 500 kids this year along with some new activities for the children to enjoy on Friday, April 11th. The event will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 and Saturday, April 12, 2008. We will be offering early registration starting March 1st, 2008. There is a $12 entry fee.
